Well I'm taking a few days off. I will be back on the lake Sat. The last few reports have been talking, fishing deep, but you can still like always catch some really good stringers, like Tim Montz did with me a couple of weeks ago. It was hot and not a bit of wind. Tim wanted to learn how to flip,so mid day that is what we did. The results was Tim caught his largest bass ever 9lb 1oz and his largest stringer ever 33 pounds five fish. I would say he learned how to flip. ,.........Read More >>

Well Bass Champs is in the books and Sheretta and I finished 14th with 29.08 we would have finished 11th but we had a one pound penalty for a dead fish, I had my first fish take it so deep I could not get the hook out. We started on a deep ledge in the main body of the lake and I had a 8 a 7 and 6 the first 30 min. Sheretta lost two fish in the 7lb range at the boat. The wind was so bad on us the we could barely stand up, and it was hard to feel the bite. We caught a ton of fish in the 4 and 5 r ,.........Read More >>

The fishing on Falcon is great. Any point you see has fish on it. Four to Ten feet are producing lots of numbers of two to six pounders. If you want some monsters, fish the same points that are holding good numbers shallow, fish out deeper in 16 to 30 feet and try to locate the sweet spot. When you do, it will be loaded with some big fish. Plum seems to be the best color on plastics. DD22 crankbaits are doing well also, shad early, pearch later has worked best for me.  ,.........Read More >>

Well summer time has really kicked in at Falcon. It has been over 100 every day for a while now. Tim and Wade came down for a long weekend both brought their boat and a load of friends. They had a good trip with lots of fish and some big fish. They both fished with me a couple of times this year, and have fell in love with Falcon. They did the smart thing and hired me to show them the lake before they brought their on rigs and friends, and it payed off. They fished three days and they averaged 7 ,.........Read More >>

I finally got to go fishing today. Sheretta and I got on the water at 6:40 am and the wind was at least 20mph. It started out kind of slow, but after an hour or so things started to pick up. I was throwing a sexy shad DD22 and switched to a bull brem DD22 and that mad all the differance. The wind had the water a little stained and the fish wanted a little char. green. about 11 am the wind let up just a little and we headed down the lake. I stoped a marker seven and hit an outside point where the ,.........Read More >>

Falcon is Hot 100 today, but the fishing is even hotter. Lots of fish every where, I am still catching my bigger fish deep, but it's sure a lot of fun to move in shallow and flip the bushes. The wind has been bad the last few days, today it finally setteled down a little. The lake has seemed to stop falling for now. Sorry about no reports I have been clearing off my lot. I got it done and I am going fishing.  ,.........Read More >>

Wow The crank bait bit is on. We got out early today and just smashed them on cranks. I think I had two eights two sevens and a six in six cast. Sheretta got smart and dug in my rod box and found a rod with another crankbait tied on and caught this nine pound six ounce pig. We were back at the house by 10 am. We had five that went 40lbs. I sure wish we were in a tournament. The lake is dropping a little. ,.........Read More >>

It was really hot today 108 and no wind. but fishing was really good I had a trip today with Tim and Wade. The crank bait was a little bit off today do to no wind, but did produce our best a 7lb 9oz. Most of our fish came off big worms Texas rigged. We fished from one end to the other traveling often to cool off. We had about 50 fish today from four to seven pounds. We fished mostly deep from 16 to 30 foot. The picture was not the biggest we caught today it was just a picture of the biggest man  ,.........Read More >>

Wow what a nice day on Falcon. I guided Taz Tyrone & Hal Moffett, the day started out at our first stop, both on their first cast caught nice fish over six pounds. I put Hal's fish on the report because it was his 40th birthday. We had a good day catching over 50 and our average was 5 pounds. Hal had the best day, but remember it was his birthday. Taz and I watched Hal loose four fish over 8 pounds or he would have had over a fourty pound stringer. We all had over 25 pounds with Hal having aroun ,.........Read More >>

Guided Alan and Danial from Hobbs N.M. We started out cranking. We caught fifty by 10 am. The weather was great. Alan nearly had a fourty pound stringer. I at one time had four in a row five to six pounders. Danial caught his personal best a seven and a half. The bite slowed down after 11 am. After the start we had maybe it just seamed slow. Alan's best two fish a 8lb 13oz and a 9lb 2oz.  ,.........Read More >>

I took Alan and Daniel out again today till 11:30 am The goal was to get Daniel another personal best. Alan took a back seat and off we went. I tried not to but I caught a couple of sevens trying to get Daniel a big fish. After a couple of hours Daniel started getting a little worried. I told him that I did not want him to get a big fish early, That I was saving that for last. So after holding him off I mad a last min. move to the spot. Sheretta and I went today. I was wanting to try a swim bait, Allen and Daniel left me Sunday. It was hot and calm. I was not supprised that the big fish just hammered it I caught this nice seven and a half, but I lost another fish in the nine or ten range. I only had one so I did not throw it much, and I made sure to throw it in open water. Sheretta caught some nice fish up to seven pounds on a rig. They started moving our double wide today so we are going to be busy with that for a little while ,.........Read More >>

Guided Mike and Emile from Lake Charles, La today I started out real windy but the fish did not mind. We caught about forty or so. We cranked and threw the rig quite a bit. Emile is the one in the picture because this was his personal best a seven pounder. Mike caught one a little bigger. Mike lost a fish today that we all saw It was a monster. the fish came up about 20 feet from the boat and made a nose dive and the hook straitened out. We found the fish all grouped up on tiny little spots. We  ,.........Read More >>

Today was a busy day. My boy Brandon and a friend Casey came down to help me build two decks at our new place. We went fishing early came in off the lake at 10 am and went up the hill and built two 10x20 decks and was back on the water by 5 pm and fished till 8pm. Brandon caught some nice fish including this seven pounder. Casey did have the biggest but the fish ate him up at the boat. Brandon tried to get her but without a net he missed and down she went. The fish looked to me to be about nine. ,.........Read More >>

I took out Randy and Sam Hale today. My boat is broke down so I took them out in their boat. The wind was about twenty today but the fish did not mind a bit. The crank bait was a little off today because we could not get a long cast into the wind to get it down far enough, but we caught same good six and seven pounders when we could. We had to C. rig most of the day. Randy and Sam caught plenty of fish on the rig and I caught some really nice ones on a one oz. jig. Randy had 32lbs for his best f ,.........Read More >>

My boat is fixed and I finaly got to go fishing. I took out Craig White today and the wind blew at least 25mph all day. I had to make Craig fish deep, you that know him knows he only likes to flip. His third cast was this nice 9 pounder. I caught another one later that was 8 pounds. Our best five went 32lbs. Not bad for the conditions. Both our best fish came on crank baits and we caught some 5 and 6 pounders on a jig or a rig.  ,.........Read More >>

This is what I did today, Work on the new house. The wind has been ugly so Sheretta and I decided to work on the house and go fishing when the wind lets up. The last time I went out was Sat. and the fish did not mind the wind a bit. The wind made it difficult on us but we did catch some really nice fish including a 8 and a 9. I hope I get to go soon before I have withdraws. ,.........Read More >>

I wanted to let you know that I am not at Falcon and I will not be back until July 1st. The fishing should not change much from last week, when we just slayed them. I am going to get married June 28th so that is what I am doing now. I also am taking this time to finish the book I have been working on The Roads Bass Travel. I will offer this book on my web site when completed. I think that it has a great deal of information that will help you locate and catch lots of big fish. Sheretta and I have been together about three years now. I took Sheretta to Falcon about a month after I met her to introduce her to fishing. It feels like winter down here. Todays high was 75. The fishing was good but they seamed a little scattered. The clouds ,wind and rain had a little to do with that. I fished all over the lake today and caught fish every where I went. I caught good fish in 2 feet and 20 feet of water. I caught this 9 pounder in four feet. this fish was 27 in long but thin. Crank bait, spinnerbait, swimbait, it did not matter what you threw the fish were on the bite. I caught some nice fish on the bank, all you ne ,.........Read More >>

Can't beleive it is July the weather has been cloudy and rain for six or seven days now and the water temp has droped to 76 to 78 in most places. The fish have scattered and are roaming around. I have caught a lot of fish but I have been roaming around also. I can't catch a big number of fish in one place. I had my youngest boy down for a few days and he caught a bunch of fish his best a heavey seven. I expect the fish will move back out once it gets hot again.  ,.........Read More >>

Took Frank and Ronnie out and it was windy but we did catch some nice fish. The crank bait was working early again. I have been really doing good on the crank bait early and after it slows down I go to Texas rig or jig and slow down a bunch, and I get a few more big ones that way. The fish are on any point with rock holding the bigger fish. About noon I have been moving up in the cover and flipping hardwoods and catching a bunch of 4 to 6 pounders. Come down and give it a try ,.........Read More >>

Went fishing with Steve today in his boat, it was kind of a pleasure not to have to fight the wind today, because it was windy and Steve was on the trolling motor. Steve got of to a nice start with his first fish a heavy eight. I did not have my camera but it was camera worthy. We flipped most of the day and caught some nice fish. At last I talked him into a crank bait area and the fish were loadded up on a rocky point and we caught several 4 to 6 pounders to finish our day. I have got to work a ,.........Read More >>

I took Mike Cooper out today and first thing Mike get on a monster on a crank bait. I had a good one on myself and lost it when I saw Mike's fish and started digging out the net. Mike was doing a great job as the fish was putting on a show she jumped twice right after she realized she was hooked and than she started ripping out drag. After about a three min. fight she jumped at the boat and twisted out the hookes. If you have been watching the weather than you know I did not go fishing today and it does not look like I will get to go till Friday. I spent the day pouring some new colors on my big mo bait. This bait is a Falcon sized trick worm and it has been catching some big bass both here on Falcon and Amistad. I started selling some a month ago and they are starting to get noticed. I took out Jimmy and Greg today and they got this double just about on their first cast. The wind blew hard today but we managed to do good on both numbers and size. Jimmy lost a fish today that was one of the biggest that one of my clients has had on that I got a good look at. I had the fish halfway in the net because she was so big she would not fit. The water was alot more stained today than it had been. I think the two foot rise and the wind had finally took effect. We finally went flipping later in the day and caught another fish that went 8 lb. We are going out again so I will let you know how we do. Sheretta and I went out today and we put in at the state park. I wanted to check out that end of the lake because it has been a long time sence I had fished down there. We started out the day with my first cast a six pounder. We seemed to catch fish on almost every structure we fished. I was cranking and Sheretta was throwing a rig. All I did was jump from point to point never staying on a point even thow I was catching fish. I was really fishing some new water getting ready for my next guide trip that start later this week. I took my daughter Morgan out today and she learned how to flip. She caught her limit in about an hour and a half. She lost a couple of nice fish early because of the hook set but she got it down and started crossing their eyes her best was nearly six but she lost a fish that was alot bigger than that.
